Australian/German couple from Moving to Uruguay (Contact Member) - 02/18/10 08:11

Hi my husband and I will be moving to Montevideo in May this year ! Very exciting and we will be arriving beginning of March to look for an apartment and an office space and generally organize ourselves for our move.

We definitely hope to make it to the expat meeting on the Sunday as we have loads of questions and would love to meet some new friends !

Before we start with the job of house hunting etc in March, I've decided to arrive a few days earlier alone to get to know a different part of Uruguay. One question I have at this stage is if anyone knows of some lovely beach location or estancia, that would be a good place to combine a week of spanish lessons with some relaxation. I was thinking a spanish school up the coast somewhere, or an estancia that offers tourist stays who could also organise spanish lessons for me?

Thanks for your help!

Kathryn

"Spanish by the beach"

Hi Kathryn

I did quite a few Spanish lessons in La Paloma. They run private classes, and it is fairly reasonably priced. The private classes work well because they are arranged to suit your level of Spanish. Plus, they can arrange the classes to a time that suits you.

The link to their blog is below.

If you want to get in contact with them, let me know, and I can send you some more info.

Also, I sent you an email with some hotel ideas in La Paloma, let me know if you didn't get it.

Cheers

Tamara
